CPT

A cone penetration test is used to determine geotechnical properties of soils.
The cone penetration test has become internationally one of the most widely used and accepted test methods for determining geotechnical soil properties.

As the cone is pushed into the seabed, the marine soil responds with differing degrees of resistance. This resistance is recorded using strain sensors in the tip of the cone. At the same time as the sensors are recording resistance at the cone tip, sensors in the friction sleeve are recording sleeve friction along a 100mm length and also the pore water pressure and penetration inclination.

Our Cone Penetration Test (CPT) equipment is designed, manufactured and tested at our purpose built factory in Falmouth, England.

Our experienced team have worked offshore, so we have a clear understanding of the demands those working in the geotechnical survey industry have for their equipment and systems.

We provide full calibration services to ISO certified standards, with new digital cones and spare parts for all cones available from stock. Every cone has its service history and calibration data stored internally so a user can read the history of each cone simply by plugging it in.

Bespoke Solutions

Using the latest techniques, we can deliver bespoke solutions for your next subsea challenge. We have designed equipment that has been used on seabed frames, sent downhole, attached to buoys and masts, or towed behind vessels.

Whether the solution requires electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic or simulation techniques, Feritech have the experience and skills to take on any project in the marine industry (or indeed, onshore).
