NEW ADVANCED MANUFACTURING FACILITY OPENS THIS MONTH

After a year in development, Feritech’s new 3.5 acre production site opens this month and is ready to take new orders. The new facility enables Feritech to offer a comprehensive service to its customers, including in the fast growing floating offshore wind sector.

The new multimillion pound facility offers everything from fabrication and machining to electronics and embedded software development. It will be one of the largest facilities of its kind in the UK, with design and manufacturing services provided on one site, thus enabling faster turnaround of projects.

Based near Falmouth in Cornwall,  Feritech Global Ltd is a solution provider specialising in designing and building products that are used in extreme marine environments. Working with clients in more than 40 countries, Feritech creates innovative solutions to complex engineering problems and also provides worldwide rental of cutting edge subsea geotechnical survey equipment.

Co-founder and Managing Director, Rob Ferris, explains:

“This new production facility is an important step forward for our business. One of the key factors driving its development is the huge global opportunity that is offered by Floating Offshore Wind. With our track record of breaking new ground in marine engineering, we believe we can help accelerate the development of this rapidly growing sector.”

The new manufacturing facility will be capable of making fabrications of any size up to hundreds of tons. It is complemented with a new machining hall which can produce all manner of precision machined parts. Feritech’s design, electrical, electronic and hydraulic capabilities have also been expanded.

Rob Ferris says:

“By having such a wide range of activities under one roof, we increase the potential for collaborative working between different teams and can have tight management control over projects. This means faster completion of projects for our customers.

“The next few years will be a very exciting time for Feritech.”
